@Pachka84 : If Amira is Tengrist as I suspect she might be, she has religious / cultural reasons not to merely keep a crippled hawk as a pet.

This chapter is very touching. The line "Birds are meant to living among the clouds" struck me so hard. Yes, it could be kept as a pet, but from the point of view of the hawk, that would be torture. Look at how hard it was trying to fly even with a broken bone. I really like how determined Amir was at the notion of not keeping it as a pet, that was never an option for her, she really does care for the animal.
