Otoyomegatari - Vol. 8 Ch. 45 - Pariya Sews

"Well Payra? Won't you say something to our hostess, who's family caused the destruction of our home?" :/
Wow! She's that bad, huh :D Can't have your wife speaking her mind, of course.
I love Tileke and her one-track mind :D Pity we won't get to see her take her turn as the focus of the story.
Yeah... These two are gonna be alright. I think I'm going to enjoy this pairing most of all :)

Two things:
Firstly... no, Pariya doesn't NEED TO SEW. Fuck that noise. Stupid enforced cultural role bullshit. She could just move somewhere else where her bread-making skills would be more appreciated (even if it is inferior flatbread).

Secondly... what is with pairing off Pariya with this random extra and acting like they totally love each other just because the parents suggested the match. What is this horseshit? I'm surprised she even remembers he exists. Talk about a fuckin contrived sense of romance.
Couldn't she find someone better? Someone plot-relevant? Maybe one of the nomads?

@SotiCoto
Shota should've proposed to marry Pariya and this way make his own yaoi harem. Lost chance!

P.S She has to learn sewing though. Lke it's stated, in that age and place, awife has to know how to fix and make famiy's clothes. Same as cooking. They can't just go to mcdonalds to eat. Having no skill at those things are troubling for whole family. And then, whose going to teach the next generation?
Skills are passed so they can keep living a good life. They can't order some cheap clothes from ebay. I don't think they have wifi.

@villko05 : 90% of the sewing they do is fancypants decorative embroidery that serves no functional purpose. Fixing broken things, fine. But it isn't a damned mandate of female existence to embroider flowery shit onto everything. Her breadmaking is a far more practical skill, and one she enjoys besides.

@SotiCoto
Umar has been her suitor since the market chapter. So quite some time.

And I would want to wear and that my loved ones wear beautiful clothing rather than plain ones.
