I always fall for this trope of (kind of) good guys being actually batshit insane. Didn't really see it coming but it makes sense for the plot to keep Tatsuya more inclined to stay neutral.

I'm thinking that Kai is the mastermind of it all. I feel like he's manipulating Yoshiki's "insane" loyalty to his gang and is the real perpetrator of the 5th's death. Like the same scenario as this happened, but Kai finished the job or something.
