One thing I was surprised about is that, aparently, in the LN Hamsuke is female.
Another thing, it's something I just though about actually, in a world were leaving dead bodies around will create undead wouldn't their burial rituals aways end with the cremation fo the body?

@mahtan I don't think the bodies themselves turn undead, but rather, thanks to the amount of death that's around, the undead just appear out of thin air, through magic.

If the idea is correct just keep amassing undead together and letting more powerful ones spawn until an overlord appear...

@mahtan That may be correct, but considering that even the great plains of whatever, were millions have died, haven't spawned something of greater threat, even close to that of an Overlord, it'll probably take us a few hundreds of thousands of years. Even if we were to turn undead, we'd wither away.

One thing I was surprised about is that, aparently, in the LN Hamsuke is female.

If you pulled that info from the wiki or something, it could have come from basically any of the 13 current volumes of novel, not just the part this is based on, and it's not uncommon for a character to assume something like a talking beast is male for ages before the thing itself reveals it's actually female. Incidentally, we've seen three other characters in this so far that may not be the gender you thought they were at a glance. Possibly more? I'm not that familiar with every side character and one of them we saw for just a second strikes me as a maybe.
