Oversimplified SCP - Ch. 113 - SCP-048

@Al_Azif Depending on the SCP, you probably don't want that to happen.
For example, 173(the living statue)... they don't actually knows what happens if they are finally able to destroy it. It could just lose its magical properties, or the pieces end up having the same kind of properties, now making it worse because you now have to keep a watch on multiple pieces.

@Al_Azif No, because designated items have the habit of being lost, not explicitly destroyed. It can be due to theft rather than destruction. It's why it was rejected as a disposal method in the extended log for SCP-682.

@Al_Azif trying to dispose SCP is the worst idea you can do to SCP... There's a reason why it "Secure, Contain and Protect" and not "Destroy or dispose". As for why, just read the report about SCP-1609.

oh i remember this one
the first time i read it, the thought that popped into my mind was "is this an scp number where the scp was downvoted and deleted every time and then Dr. Clef had to step in or something"
of course, I don't think i have the best grasp on how the actual writing system works, so I don't know how incorrect I am

@InfiniteVerisimilitude I think they get D-class personnel to re-type the database entry every morning.

Then put them in a room with nothing but a glass of water, film the results, and upload them to YouTube.

It's where the SCP gets their money from.

Looking at the comment section on the actual SCP, it seems like a few ideas had been assigned 048 but eventually got deleted, hence the joke. I'm kinda bummed because it seems like the "vampyre boat" might have also been an actual thing.

Minor Update: The vampire boat was an actual thing. It was deleted pretty fast, so there's no snapshot of it on the Way Back Machine. It also used to be for a human-faced dog named Joey which can only be found on the WBM. The SCP wiki changed its url in 2011 so a lot of old links from before then are lost.
