To summarize, kitsune is the japanese version, while japanese kitsune can be devious and even murderous, there are just as many folklore tales that show them as demure waifus and are basically male wish-fulfilment fantasies.

Korean folklore has the kumiho, which is portrayed primarily as a she-devil, with only one goal, to slice your belly open and eat your liver. Preferably while you're still alive.

Guess what sort of folk tales the surviving agent was raised on.
