Owaranai Fukou ni Tsuite no Hanashi

In which the protagonist is a prototypical angsty, blatantly self-destructive miscreant who continuously makes bad life decisions (including some non-consensual stuff in the first chapter, for which I've added a sexual violence tag), and the love interest sometimes feels... a little less like a complete person, and more like the convenient object for the protagonist to, y'know, make bad life choices about, get emotional about, yearn for, etc. Well, I'm not saying the love interest is totally flat as a character, mind, just that they feel a little... convenient.

It does the whole angst-and-salvation thing very well, though. I mean, by-the-book, but good execution.

It comes close to seriously bringing up complex self-image (and self-confidence) issues, but sort of dances around the idea and ultimately punts on it. I'm not sure if it's too subtle, or whether the whole thing was just an accident from it searching for more things to be angsty about.

Oh, also, the final extra-chapter is purely some sort of bondage kink and can safely skipped if you, like I, know that's not your thing. Yeesh.

I liked it. The sexual violence tag is mainly because the MC drunk raped (MC was the uke) the guy he loved. I’m not advocating that behavior, but really, there was no actual violence per se. Unless you count the MC hurting himself because this is his first time as the uke and he didn’t prep himself well.

It was so fast 😵 😵while the bittersweet of unrequited love is described excellently, the sudden happiness is too... sudden and shallow. Readers love Takayuki for sure (he has stupid way to convey love, but still adorable) but it would be better if the story changed perspective at least once so that we could know more about Kiyotake's feeling towards Takayuki.
Extra and sequel save this story, otherwise it would be bad open-ending story.
