Plot Twist:
Nishina is transfered to a mirror world of the one Youta is in.
In that world it is the same setting except that there are only male humans there and no girls.
The only connection between the worlds is the castle in the capital where by the Deeply Jealous God uses his magic to bring the male genes and the female genes together to "mysteriously" create new humans.
Then from that connected space all girls are sent out to the world Youta is in and all boys are sent out to the mirror world.

So thinking about it, I guess it makes sense. Although Cetus's attribute was water, her weakness was light. So it would follow that her patron god would be of the opposed darkness attribute and being somehow related to the moon ( or at least one of the moons) could imply that.
