@AsuraRaza It's probably been a while since you read Elfen Lied or maybe you got desensitized to the violence after a while, this series is certainly less violent. In EL there was a ton more body parts flying off. I guess part of the problem was that a lot of the major characters were functionally immortal no matter how many times their arms or legs were chopped off

@degenerateafro - Well, Elfenlied only had wholesale slaughter at the beginning, plus a few times during the story. I don't know, somehow it felt less personal than this. Maybe because it turned into something that was almost funny, especially with the spec-ops guy. Plus, most of the people who got killed deserved it.
Nana of course was different, she was a tragic figure not unlike the girls in this manga.
