I'm slowly starting to hate MC. It's not like he is really a bad guy but he is a dense idiot and I fear he will really hurt Banchou if he ever reveals he didn't realize they were a couple and I don't like the idea of someone as pure as Banchou going through that.

This is really weird in a frustrating way
The problem never was if he realized he loved her as he never denied to himself that he liked her, but that he kept misunderstanding her advances because of her choice of words. And I thought that that was dispelled after having gone on a date she did confirm was one.
Yet it seems that from that he only got that he likes her but not that they indeed went on a date which was the most explicit part of last chapter.

Did you miss the part he was pretty much a slave to delinquents his entire life? lol. This is really amazing progress.
Getting bullied at his level really messes with the mind and is not just something to overcome without help. I mean, Banchou did kind of skipped a step in the whole dating thing, not learning about his history at all. She really just caveman clubbed the dude and said your mine lol

That line from her was...almost romantic. Even with how it came out, I'm proud of how much Toramaru's improved from the nervous texting a few chapters ago.

@Sh4dey That's exactly right. Unoki often casually drops lines that make me really f*cking sad, and he's actually really has come a long way since they've started "dating". This is slightly slow, but exactly how I expected a good development of their relationship to be.

You can't call it a lack of progression when things are changing. If it rushed through the works and got to them clearing things up already without other sweet events to go through, I'd be worried about the manga getting axed.
