Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise - Vol. 1 Ch. 6 - Under the Rainbow

Wow.No honourable death charge for that guy, penis guy finally died, shouts of people charging to their death and the >choose. Not sure if he gonna go fight after this chapter.

Suicide charge indeed. Even if they made it to a tank, they would be too close to the explosion. This is the first I've heard of them but I assume the author did his homework and those charges on a stick were actually used.

So how effective are those mines and what are the sticks at the end used for? Was it to ensure the user put the mine next to the armour at a 90 degree angle for maximum penetration?

So Drifter's comment got me curious, and a quick Wikipedia search would indicate the weapons handed to the soldiers in this chapter were real, a type of anti-tank grenade called a "lunge mine." The fact that they killed the user along with the target seems to have been a feature, not a bug. In exchange, though, it had one of the highest penetration rates of any of the anti-tank grenades used during the war, about double that of other weapons of the same type.

Tragedy occured under the presence of magnificent ranbow ... Such a contradictive things between those two 😖

This suicidal AT lunge make me curious, did japan have think of/access to something similliar to nazi's panzerfaust ? ... Given they're allies & many causalities at the allied tank in the hands of panzerfaust at the late period of war

*edit :
Found something similliar but still not count as 'panzerfaust' ... It doesn't have disposeable & mass produce feature yet
