Something like this happened to me and I just left her unfinished work on her desk. When she came back she was so angry and tried blaming me when the boss asked her why she didn't do her job.
And the boss went "But, that is your job to do. Not his. You left early. You decided to leave your work unfinished. Your responsibility." Obviously, she did not talk to me again unless it was absolutely necessary.
