@shavier yea there's some plot inconsistency, maybe she means that her parents don't come home until late and so she's pretty much home alone anyhow? Or maybe it wasn't that her parents were home, but her parents are paying for the place and will kick her out and stop paying rent for her if she gets kicked out of school?

@Xreepy Not the first time inconsistencies happened. Earlier, MC said "if he lived alone" about something...but, doesn't he live alone? Maybe it means her family works all the time and she's left alone(she's yankii...and they're known to be very much of the working class)...or they pay her rent.
