Pocket Monsters SPECIAL X & Y - Vol. 6 Ch. 39

Honestly I really liked this arc. Depression, mistrust of adults, paranoia were all interesting themes to handle and I especially didn't expect it out of a pokemon manga. I like the fact that he didn't just instantly overcome depression and all of a sudden beca,e all positive. That shit can be traumatizing and would probably be a part of a person for their entire life. Heck the very last panel where we can properly see X's face has X looking like his gloomy self after refusing the professors party while everyone else is smiling. But you can see that he has developed, it's just that it's the kind of thing you might not ever fully get over. The very last chapter cover page has X back in his little tent on top of Ryhorn again as he still seems to love cramped gloomy places and his face is shadowed by the tent. He's definetly not the same energetic boy he was before the whole trauma. But the sign of his growth is that unlike before he's left the curtain flap open so he can see everyone showing he's willing to open up to people again.

While I didn't play Gen 6, I'm thinking of trying it now that I've read through this.

After playing Gen 6, this was a pretty good story.
I mean, I'm pretty sure everyone has their own story while playing a pokemon game & the manga's just another way of telling a story.

If I had to make some comparisons, I like Emma's subplot in-game more & AZ's whole story felt very cut/short.
Side note: I can't take Lysandre seriously, in both game & manga. I mean, he's the whole embodiment of "This world is imperfect, if only I could wipe away it's impurities and make it as beautiful as me!" but that's just how I see him. Also I can't believe he's fuckin' dead.
