I just found out about this last week or so, when I read an article from the BBC.

What a shame. And I was shocked when I found out. I've been watching his comedy skits in Japanese to improve my listening comprehension. He passed away so sudden.
Damn you, life.

His old shows are now officially being posted on Youtube (it says limited time, though). Not sure if it has to do with his death or not. But I hope they'll stay up forever.
