Sucks that this is actually a realistic aspect from that era. When the first son was born it wasn't unusual for him to be "raised" by the first queen since that child would he the next in line for the crown. Hence the public would have believe that the child was purely from the royal lineage a pairing which was usually the king and first queen.

Both the first queen and second queen actions are still within the expected. I'm not surprised by the pull-and-pull 'banter' of the two factions lol. Though I kinda feels bad for the second queen. It must be hard having those 'visitor' visited everyday after she just gave birth .

Though seriously, I didn't realize the King would be that dumb... While it's not your fault, you were a half-blood royal as well, shouldn't you be more familiar with this kind of political battle? I mean, when he was just a prince, people also didn't immediately agree with making him as the heir right??

As cruel as it is, technically speaking, giving the baby to the first queen is the right move. Berta was only sent to the palace to give the king an heir after all. In order for the child to become the king's official successor, it is necessary that the first queen raises him. Otherwise, he'll be nothing more than a bastard.

i think some are forgetting, she's not a concubine but a second QUEEN. Her child will still be under the imperial family. the sole problem of his legitimacy is that he's not traditional blooded. but The king is half and its not as if traditional blood has powers that he couldnt be heir.

I'm developing a love and hate relationship with this series. Like it such a reality to it. Everything is within the expectation of a Political imperial family feud. But I really want to Smack someone right now for the Second Queens situation.

The only problem (well not really the only problem) with giving the First Queen the child is that if she ever does happen to give birth to a child in the future then she will most likely kill the Second Queen's child so there is no quarrel as to who is the heir to the throne (either the firstborn who is half-blood or the second-born who is a pure blood).

I dont think the king is is simply dumb, he prob only focusing on the case of legitimacy and rights of succession... while his ignorance stands true ill give him the benefit of doubt as he lead a horrendous life himself...
