Not that Mr. Perv Gatekeeper wasn't asking for it, but...that felt kinda mean.
For starters, how did she know he would react like that? I assume she specifically targeted him. Secondly, she totally arranged for those excuses (or lack thereof) herself.
And most importantly, couldn't she have given a little notice of her plan before sending the family into a constant frantic panic?
