Ok, the main character just shot her stepbrother down three times on the whole lanterns thing, and he still went to get one?
That guy was kinda interesting when he first showed up, but he's gotten real pushy, and seem to be confusing how glad she is to spend nice family time with him with her actually being romantically attracted to him. And he's a fucking moron: even assuming she was into him enough to have an affair while he was in town or even be 'kidnapped' by him, that would completely fuck the political situation between the two countries.
God, I'm really glad 9th showed up right then, and he's in the "hey, let's, you know, do couple things" (and I remember my mother and father doing this together and just had a traumatic flashback and I hope we don't fucking end up like them) mode, not the "I'm trying to keep you away from your family in a jealous rage" (because one of those guys is totally carrying a torch for you) mode, or the "yo, I'm locking you out of all the useful information - just trust me" (seriously it's for your own good) mode he's been in far too often.
