As a proofreader, you have missed the arrows being shot with the command "fire" that only applies to firearms.
Command to shoot from the weapons using rope tension, including , but not limited to bows, arbalests, ballistae, trebuchets, cataphracti and catapultae is "loose".

I want to imagine a scenario where they instead strip the stepmother out of all that expensive jewelry... If the stepmother can guilt trip her daughter into a lifetime of horrible marriage, I don't see why Priscilla couldn't let her sacrifice even half hard luxuries from the stepmother and say it is for the good of the household. Ask her to weigh the rest of her daughter's life verses her useless sparkly stuff in front of the whole household. She can't just say I'll ruin your life for my material luxuries in public, can she?
