The guy is a massive asshole, and the plot is so stupid. There is no reason she had to enter some sort of sick slave contract. She should have just walked away.

I feel like this whole manga is going to be really frustrating to read.

I'm interested in where you're getting "sick slave contract" from. The list of things that she might have to do include "Hit on a guy", "Steal something from a convenience store", "Go to a high class ??? Y50,000". It's all for being able to stay there, chances are that she'll have a moral opposition to stealing when that finally comes about and he'll wave "Then don't come back" at her. It's against his interests for her to go to jail, since he's bored and she's entertainment, there's no disclaimer about not being able to look for a job are anything of the sort. He is abusing the fact that he's rich, but all it amounts to is dares

@karolyn yeah, there is no contract. He's blackmailing a woman for fun, which is fucking horrible, but the door to leave is literally always open? He literally said promises and contracts are bullshit. Besides, he reacted/resonated with some part of her story when she was feeding him his money and it's wildly obvious that his family situation is about as borked as hers in it's own way, so there's more than whims at play.

That said, there is probably going to be a bit of "that was hard to read" in the future.

as for now Issei is unjustifiedly horrible but I'm positive I'm gonna be head over heels with him once we learn about his backstory.
also, isn't this chapter supposed to end on page 33? I think page 34 should've been the beginning of chapter 3.

@Sadomaru That was a bit confusing to us too, since the indicating band for the chapter start was on 2 pages. Since the 2nd page was cover art for the chapter, it made sense to put the 1st page as the last page of chapter 2 and the 2nd page with the cover art as the first for chapter 3.

Will the guy improve at all or will he just act like a conceited asshole for the entirety of the manga
I like the protag because she has a spine but theirs a chance she'll loose what made her interesting

The implementation of the Ouran Vase trope here feels clumsy. If the author continues adding external excuses for why she keeps indulging this guy, I’ll be pretty disappointed, but hopefully it’s just a one-off handwave to get the premise rolling. Best to gloss over and forget it as quickly as possible in favor of more character-driven motivations.

His grandma (?) slaps him real hard on the face. He even becomes homeless at some point and his friends turn on him. A lot of people go to him for money. He found himself in the park where he met our MC. Anyway, our MC finds him and more or less said it's pretty fun being buddies with him and he tear up like a lil kid. Anyway, after that they're pretty much good friends. He definitely has a thing for her but she doesn't shows any signs of being in love with him, even in ch. 35-40. He can still be a brat, but not to MC. Even gifted her some slippers. I think he even started working for the inn his family owns so he could spend more time with her??? I love character development. His older bro is gonna be a rival late in the story who seems to know our MC in the past.
