ROFLMAO, this is where the NTR starts. I would actually find it hilarious if the author actually decided to take that turn.
Anyways, what the actual hell happened with Izuki where she talks about turning into a girl? I thought it was a case of gender dysphoria or something similar, where she grew up thinking that she was a boy but, biologically, she had always been female. But she talks about how she turned into a girl? That's some weird phrasing to just gloss over.
TL;DR only NTR can save this series now.

@comeonnow0 I think she means how she started to live her life as a girl. I'm not sure she's actually transitioned, or it hasn't been explained if she started taking hormones (or if she ever will), but biologically she's male, she might have gender dysphoria and feels much more normal as a girl so she decided to be a girl, if that makes sense.

@adelaide13 I'm pretty sure it says in the second chapter that she turned into a girl, and the doctors didn't find anything wrong with her body, as in, they thought she was biologically a female. It didn't seem like there was a transition, more like one day she woke up and was female. It could be that she was biologically a female before, and the onset of puberty caused the changes, or that she was biologically male before, and some mysterious event changed it (or she was a chimera, in which case, she still could be biologically a male). But other than that last case, I'm almost certain she did not transition, nor will she need to transition, to become a girl.

@Darklight99 Because you'd think that it would be a bigger deal than how it's treated here. It's a pretty major life event that gets conveniently swept under the rug. Imagine if someone started talking to you about their life and was like oh, yeah, I used to think I was a boy until age ten when I turned into a girl, then after that, I did some other stuff, and then I did that other thing, and now we're here.

@comeonnow0 Itsuki used to be a genuine boy but was turned into a girl probabaly through magic, it had a huge impact on her life as everything about her changed, but that was all years ago and she has more or less adjusted to it by now. What more do you want?

@comeonnow0 Because it will either be revealed later on, or it just doesn't matter. It probably had something to do with the wish Ritsu made before leaving. But the actual plot doesn't change based on the conditions behind Izuki's gender bend, so it doesn't matter.

@Darklight99 I feel like if it had something to do with the wish Ritsu made before leaving, then that would have a HUGE impact on the actual plot. Because, you know, it would have an impact. Imagine if Ritsu made the wish because he wanted Izuki to be his ideal partner, and that meant being female. Izuki could feel insulted that s/he was seen as an object, a thing to be changed at another person's whims. Izuki could feel like their relationship is messed up.
And that proves that yes, the conditions behind Izuki's gender bend could actually matter for the plot. It's up to the author to decide whether they actually will be. And so far, the author is deciding to make this potentially huge issue, something that a reader would expect to be huge, as minimal as possible. That's the problem.

@comeonnow0 That's a big IF, not to mention that Ritsu never actually intended it to come true. It's all just speculation anyways. The only point is that Izuki changed genders, the fact that it was unnatural is why she keeps it hidden, that's it. If it matters, we'll find out later.

@Darklight99 You're missing the point that I made. In any story with a sudden gender swap, it is perfectly reasonable for the readers to expect the cause of the sudden gender swap to be a significant plot point. Importantly, it's not only reasonable but also highly expected.
Let me be clear. That does not mean that the author NEEDS to fulfill reader expectations. It's fine if the author wants to break the mold and defy expectations. The problem is that here, the author has done that badly. We are 23 chapters in, and there's zero indication that the sudden gender swap is at all significant to the plot, exactly as you said. And exactly as I said, that's just bad writing because it sweeps it under the rug.
It would be completely different if, for example, the author simply had a couple of panels saying Itsuki/Izuki has an extremely rare medical condition that caused this, and then the author just moved on from there. The author doesn't need to dwell on it. It could be fast and over with. Done. That didn't happen here. In fact, literally nothing happened here. Again, the author swept it under the rug.

@comeonnow0 We aren't even halfway through the story, or all we know the circumstances surrounding her change do come up later on. I personally don't really care how it happened, it would be bullshit anyways, so there's no real reason to dwell on the "how", what matters is the "now what?"

Hmm, I still hope there’s an explanation of how MC turned into a girl beyond “magic”. Clearly MC doesn’t seem themself as a girl with the “even if I was a real girl”. I just feel bad for MC, it seems like they’re not happy with their identify but is just going with the flow.
