question : can mods delete comments without giving the reasons and the warnings ?

when i checked back some of my old comments , i noticed that they just disappeared . i can only think of 2 reasons :

- mangadex website has some minor bugs .

- or some mods just delete comments without giving the reasons or the warnings , beforehand or afterward .

or i think maybe some mods and i just had different opinions about some characters and some manga-s . the mods didnt like my comments so they deleted them ? is this abusing of power ?

before , some of my comments were just moderated and hidden , and there were links to mangadex 's rules .

now , some of my comments were just deleted , so i dont even know which rule that i violated with my comments .

imagine : i spent hours to type some wall-of-text comments , and then some mods just deleted them in seconds .

Are you absolutely sure that's the case? Sometimes when I comment (or edit), I have to refresh a few times to see it due to lag.

Maybe you should ping a forum mod _{(I'm not gonna ping one tho, too scary)}.

How did you check back on your old comments, do you just remember each and every chapter or discussion you commented on?
I sometimes forget if i commented on somethings, or misremember and not having actually commented on things.

Also, do you have "comment visibility" set to show all in: https://mangadex.org/settings ? your comments might be moderated (i've seen some from you, you get pretty heated which might be the reason)

As for if mods can, probably, well for bots i think they can (i see people complain but can't see the bot they complain about), unless someone comes out with concrete proof of them deleting a person's comment (and not editing/marking them), then not people.

i doubt they would since it'd come out pretty obviously (since deleted comments would be offensive and discussed ones) and MD would be flamed for it.

Nope, never happened to me. I'm a good boy. I've never even gotten a comment moderated.

I've never heard of a non-spambot comment getting outright deleted. At most, I've seen non-spambot comments get their image links or aggregator links removed, but the post itself remains.

This is different from when an entire comment section gets deleted (i.e. a chapter is removed entirely), but I don't think that's what OP is referring to here.

no, well i thought that happened to me once. but somebody double checked it for me and it still exist and it's just me being an idiot.

I've seen comments being deleted as well as threads (Teddys infamous 3 threads which by the way showed me the way into the shadow realm) then there is the case of the missing OPs which i'm sure many of you have seen. So can mods delete comments without giving the reasons and the warnings? Yes, do they do it on a regular basis no as ive only seen this happen on rare occasions.
