Well the thing there is unfortunately, being a married couple in a setting with multiple species wandering around like this doesn't mean they can all get any results from hiding the salami. D&D is a good example, humans can pull that off with a fair number of other races in most of those campaign settings. But I think most of the races are incompatible with each other in this regard, and some of them don't work with humans either? It's pretty complicated and the game is set up so you can change those kinds of rules however you want for your own sessions anyway. Point is, it could either be like breeding a liger out of tigers and lions, or it could be like letting your dog make a move on your cat. One of those has some sort of result under the right conditions, the other just gets a dog brutalized by an angry cat.
