@zeroxjac No, this is a perfect balance.... it shows how he resolves himself without needing to die in the process, not a waste at all.... it’s a huge step forward for him mentally..... this arc has already thrown a bunch of stuff, the mangaka should keep anything he has in his mind for the next one, be it kamika’s arc or raise’s training or whatever

@Logic He resolves himself for nothing, the mangaka could let him fight to show his resolve not only make him go "im going to sacrifice my life for the one i love" and 5 seconds later like "uff saved by the bell", let him struggle a bit or even let him to be defeated/captured and then send the heavy guns ¡not a few second before the battle!, now all his resolve are just pretty words and unless something else happens kamika is just luggage.

Tbh, this is can be considered the best spotlight the MC has on the SERIES so far..., and a page later its become anticlimatic.
I keep asking myself, will the MC man up and be a shounen, but oh well this can still be considered a 1st Development on MC mental.
