Blondie caught a glimpse that Short Haired is (a) interested in the guy and (b) does not like when someone said she is lgbt,
so she double tease the reader by tricking a reader to think the her and Short Haired are couple then reveal that it is actually about Short Haired and the guy then further tease the guy's curiosity about whether Short Haired is interested in him.
