Random Walk

I probably wouldn't have finished it, but it's short and makes for a pretty quick read. High school saga of contrived relationship drama. Almost everyone here is involved into some really messed up love dodecahedron. More detailed description in the spoiler.
There's a girl who patiently accepts that her boyfriend cheats on her all the time. There's said boyfriend who apparently can only love someone if it's a secret and is too confortable with his girlfriend to actually break up. But they're happy together! There's... trial dating, if it can be called like that, in which you go on dates with someone for months but you're not dating, somehow. There's the mc's best friend who is only interested in guys when she gets to know them and breaks up with them as soon as she gets bored (which is very quickly). She eventually finds a guy and gets stuck in a cycle of constant breaking up and getting back together again. There's more cheating than you can shake a stick at. There's the mc's ex, who cheated on her with his tutor (she was "giving him a reward"), got with her again, and broke up with her even though he loved her because a girl had a crush on him and was soooo sad he was with someone else, she got sick and ended up in a hospital, so he started dating her because of guilt. But it's fine! He actually started liking her in the end! Don't you love happy endings? Finally, there's the mc, who gets through one terrible boyfriend after another and ends up with her step brother, who was only her step brother for a year, but she still calls him her big brother, even as she's kissing him. Kinky. Oh, there's also another girl who's with her teacher. He seems scummy, but it's probably one of the most functional relationships in this trainwreck (aside from mc's other ex who dates a girl he cheated on her with. Bad beginning aside, they're pretty normal).

This is drivel. As it is aimed at young girls, it offers horrible examples for relationships and terrible advice. If someone is in a relationship, just break them up and keep them for yourself! Cheating is fine so long as you are forgiven. It is okay to date teachers when you are 15...on and on. Don'tbother yourself with it.
