So many thoughts.

Firstly, what is that weird floating horseshoe-shaped thing that appears around his neck? It looks utterly ridiculous. I've been wondering that a long while now.

Secondly, I reckon Toshizou IS the one he is going to lose. I mean I reckon he'll be betrayed while he is away. That said, it is also possible for it to be the head dwarf. Both of those could make dramatic sense.

Thirdly, I can't help but wonder if he is ever going to promote Eve to actual wife status. Given the genre, probably not. She'll just gush over him and boxblock any other girls who try to get near him. Probably.

Fourthly, he wasn't actually FROM Japan, was he? The constant references to Japan come across as more than a little forced in that case. Okay, so Toshizou's existence justifies a few of them, but even Toshizou's existence and that sword were a bit contrived in the first place.
