Realist Maou Niyoru Seiiki Naki Isekai Kaikaku - Vol. 2 Ch. 7

@Robbini They seem to be more so referencing the many isekai series where the MC is pro-slavery, and has slaves in their party, not just series that don't actively fight it, which you seem to be addressing.

Which, yeah, there's a lot of trashy isekai where main characters have slaves straight up. "Oh I don't treat them badly, sometimes they even choose to be slaves, but they're still my slaves and it adds nothing to the series positively".

@Psychronia I reckon he called himself realist in the sense that he's playing to his strength rather than following a certain fantasy tropes or ideals. Nothing he's done was original or outside the box in the first place. Most of his strategies were well explored and articulated by strategists and generals since ancient time.

Though, slavery is actually a necessity until agricultural technology was sufficiently developed to have a surplus of food. Attempting industrialism or capitalism when food production is still underdeveloped will just result in large famine, as you'd just distract the workforce from producing food.

Lol protecting chastity or marking territory? I see you Eve ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Damn, I love nation building manga. as a recovering Civ 5 addict it pushes all my buttons.😤

@Fari

If you want to look at it positively, the MC taking care and treating certain slaves well could be considered as idealism, rather than them actually supporting slavery, because they know those people would still be slaves until death or freedom (which anyone else very rarely grants, let's face it). Especially if they're of the type of slave that's either cursed or wounded, and would pretty soon either be disposed of or experimented on.

Then there's also the different kinds of slaves.
Debt Slaves, Crime Slaves, War Slaves , Regular (Captured from somewhere) Slaves.
2 first are entirely logical, right ? 3rd one is understandable, right?
So if anything, if the MC buys slaves from the first 3 groups, they could be considered as 'supporting' society & law in a way.
It's only the last group that tends to really show the bad sides of humanity, because that's either because of jealousy, greed, envy, religion, politics etc. anyone who's different from the people enslaving them.

She is adorable.
He has such kindness under his scheming pragmatic choices.
Dem orcs are so cutely drawn.
This manga is great.

@Seink
different country mang

closer to indentured servitude, or simply being a vassal. it was more of a 'stipend' than actual pay/compensation, and it was barely (if even that) enough to live on

a recap chapter.. after only 6 chapters.. why ? 😂 it's not like the author needs more time to get new ideas, the novel is already here for that 😅

@Seink He's probably talking about Japanese black company employees. No matter how much overtime, the wage stays the same. And there will be much overtime.
