I like romance manga but find most of the male romantic interests boring looking. I tend to prefer adult/older-looking characters, or more average/realistic looking male leads. I'm open to shounen/seinen too though, not just manga aimed at women, there's just a fine line between charmingly average guy and blank slate.
My ideal right now is Bread & Butter, but I've also enjoyed Kawaii Hito and The Story of a Waitress and Her Customer. I was excited about Suenagaku Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu's male lead but was put off by the main girl being in high school. I don't mind an age difference but I do mind when it's not legal.
I enjoy a lot of different dynamics and really as long as it's within the parameters I'll take anything, but I tend to like it when the romance develops quickly or stories where the female lead confesses first.
