Hgh ambition isn't necessarily a bad thing. What wil it be aimed at? If he's loyal to his small country, the ambition could be based on the betterment of said country. Of course that could also mean he invades other countries for more land to make his own bigger, lol.
The sister is pretty obviously going to be a diplomat. Though I wonder a bit about that, since the mindset seems to be Middle Ages and it will be a long uphill trek to make anyone listen to her.
