I think the art direction in this manga is some kind of testament since the story is kinda boring as fuck.

But I do enjoy reading it.

I kinda wonder why he's not mainly drawing it himself, however.

@Grimmycoffee if shown like that sure, but during the chapter one of the soldiers said they'd mutilate/deform their heads enough so that his overlord wouldn't be able to tell they were not soldiers.

I'm pretty sure this was one of the reasons why one leader (i can't quite remember who) ordered his men to take the penis's of the enemy troops. Because otherwise his men would go around killing everybody and exaggerating the numbers of enemy troops that they defeated.
