Retired Heroes - Ch. 29 - Lover's Day (Heroes + Angels)

If i understood it right the angels aren't a "supernatural" race but just a race with their own biology and culture? Correct me here someone if you can, i am too lazy to read the past chapters to remember.

@alacaelum We don't know for sure right now. They seem similar to demons, with their own territories. It's basically confirmed that they aren't actually good (nor evil), just like demons tho. And that they used propaganda to appear... Well, angelic, in the humans imagination.

Damn Angels making up stories.

Also Saliy going tsundere with the holiday gifts, Enjoy it while it last Chris. 😆

@anotherone That they have an agenda i understand, what seems different in this manga is that they don't seem to be the usual type of angel, with this i mean they seem to be made of "flesh" so to speak. But like you said we don't have much information for now.

Does someone know how many chapters there are in the raws?

@alacaelum there are 39 chapters.

Check the main comment page for the series. There is a link for the raws there posted a few days ago.

This manga had a good start, but it has became very boring now. No wonder the translations slowed down.

I'm still enjoying it. These slice-of-life segments that delve into the world is pretty fun and interesting.

I wanted to see Saliy trying to make a cake and not understanding what sweet is, all the while tsuning about it.

What an enormously boring chapter, felt like a filler chapter that's' written like a wikipedia page.
I hope the whole "human becoming angels" thing will have any meaning to it, or else most of the huge info dumps that were unleashed in this chapter would just be a "waste of time", considering the usual rhythm and pacing of this story.

Well I think it is because Retired Heroes was first a doujinshi (author was called 熾羽 then) that was mainly composed with short stories. So author would want to bring these stories into commercial one as well. This chapter was in doujinshi as well.

wait, so angles accept there is misunderstanding... nice quirk.

I thought this chapter was great. It covered a huge part of the culture of the world and how the Angel masquerade intertwines so deeply with human culture, at the same time as showing completely foreign races(demons) dealing with a holiday they didn't grow up with.

Also it gave the angels quite a bit of character with how they interact with each other.
