I think if it had been a normal exam, there is an infinitesimally small chance stuck up duke boy MIGHT have technically been able to tie with Abel given that a perfect score is by default the maximum score possible...but with Emmerson in such a state, it's clearly NOT going to be a normal exam, at least for magical engineering, and we all know Abel's still gonna get a perfect score on it anyways

At least in this chapter, he felt more like a nerd trying to fight with knowledge (i.e: create a hard question that even the MC will fail at), rather then....Call in assassins to "test the MC"....Which was, yeah, incredibly stupid and unnecessary to the story.

Okay real talk a teacher abusing their power to try and feel superior to the smartest kid in class is about the worst thing ever. Putting all the questions on literal super genius level just hurts the rest of the students and looks really petty

It's made worse because they've already established the Demons that reject Humans are the main Antagonist anyway. And we're still in his first year at the academy, are they really going to shoehorn this Emerson guy in for however long this Academy arc lasts? He isn't intriguing or compelling in anyway and the whole sending Assassins after Abel thing seems widely out of place in hindsight now that he's focusing on using academics to compete with Abel.

Ugh...the MC that wants a calm life and no problem triggering another powerful asshole on purpose was written SO bad...
he could have kept the udon warmth with magic or just walked a bit more to a more calm location but nooo, he had to step on the foot of a "powerful" noble to start the new arc.
I understand that move in a dumb chinese manwhua that have protagonists with mentla problems and no foresight ability, but not Abel that we know is really a adult.
