Well...
We're not talking about just any glass, but high clarity glass.
Consider that optical glass(The super clear stuff used for telescopes) was literally the bleeding edge of bleeding edge of high technology, and the production process was a closely guarded secret late into the 19th century).
It's possible they have access to tinted glass, as a form of luxury decoration, but they can't make super clear stuff(and consider that the lolibaba went for the clearest marble)

@The5thSeraph I stand by my ten month old sarcastic statement because it's actually true. Fat shaming is not only alive and well in Japan, it gets shit done. Seems to be a big motivation for a lot of people out there to take better care of themselves.

I guess I'm nobody then, on account of preferring larger women.
I still maintain that the best girl of all best girls is Nikuko from Oshiete Galko-chan.

... But I could totally go for bigger in theory. Animu and mango just don't generally MAKE bigger outside of specialist hentai. Not to the extent of most of my exes.
