The common writing for western words is usually in katakana, these symbols have only a sound which sound out "Siberian Husky".
Ateji uses kanji instead, kanji symbols have a sound and a meaning, so the ateji reading also sounds like "Siberian Husky", the meanings of the individual kanji symbols don't have to be related to what they are spelling, in this case Master and Haru are discussing situations where they do.
@chatnoirchatgris what about the Husky saying "yorushiku" with ateji like the way biker gangs say it, is it any different than the common "yorushiku" or am I reading way too much into it lol
