Roid - Vol. 2 Ch. 6

I still don't get this world logic.
Can create advanced robot and ai,
Heck fucking brain scans.

> can't move a paralyzed legs with robotic tech or somekind nerve recovery, it's not even complicated as creating a really complicated AI.

@Xaelath While yes, the tech in this manga only leans on one side, it's also still understandable. If you can turn brain logic into codes, it will be more easily to put that into machine, because machine "talks" in codes. Human body otherwise, does not understand codes.
That's why the doctor asked Yui, if she wants to gave up her human legs, and change them to machine legs instead.

On the real world approach, we can already create an AI with all its deep learning, recognition, and ...magical thingies, within a decade or two?. But, CMIIW, we still can't completely fix spine nerves damage, at least that's what I know.

lol, translators thought comments section would be done with the legs thing.
How naive.

A great deal of sophistry at the end of the chapter.

A robot did wrong by trying to attack a human.
And in order to talk about their right a machine has to become a person.

Now, if somebody is trying to install a "person-level" AI into a floor sweeper, then there's a problem.

So when is Yui chopping her legs and going full Texhnolyze so that this series go actually complete apeshit.

Jokes aside thanks for the update <3

Jeez I feel for Anna, her position is pretty rough. Honestly that whole “robots are tools meant to be used” idea is pretty harmful especially when you consider people are actively trying to develop AI with consciousness. Even tools still deserve respect.

Wtf didn't expect someone here to know Texhnolyze. Definetely my favourite anime ever.

Edit: holy shit and it was the uploader, great taste too, thanks for working on this <3

Well that explains the whole legs thing. I still don't understand why an exoskeleton can't be procured or manufactured to act as the "legs" for her though.

@NightSide
There's already research on recovering spinal cord injury .

Yes we can create an AI that could have a deep learning but not that advanced yet, not as advanced as any robot technology in this story.

Regardless this manga is going to end in 4 chapters.
I hate to say this but it definitely axed which is fair to say Yurihime probably was not interested where the story is heading. (Following Yurihime Standard, things that mostly get a long run were borderline hentai, full of Yuri romance drama, weird relationship, disturbing relationship).

This manga passed 1 volume and had none of it. Not even a comedy/fluff such as Wataten or YuruYuri.

@Aulgh
Likely she dislike the usage of Exoskeleton which is understandable based on her choice alone.
And she seemingly think that her legs that motivates her to do things.

@RanaRana If you revisit chapter 4, you'll see that the robot was holding the kid by the head and was about to kill him (page 22). That is not self defense, but a murder attempt. And that is the problem.

Do be aware that a machien would be stronger and sturdier than a human, and does not need to resort to killing.

@DeathDonut
see chapter 4 page 11 that the robot is a captive servant being abused by it`s owner, this is the reason for it to be so damaged.
If your life and liberty is threatened in such a way you have the right to defend yourself with lethal force.

Exoskeleton wouldn't help because she's taking painkillers for her injuries, forcing the legs move would hurt even more. Plus she's refusing cybernetic replacement legs. Arguably she should be able to build a quadruped "wheelchair" that doesn't require her legs to move.
