I guess I figured it wasn't really a dude thing since Amori's Banchou, Sayuri Osanada, is in the same exact position socially without being a man. To some extent Rokudou and Ranna too, in terms of expecting them to protect everyone, as the secret Banchou and Amori's strongest fighter, respectively.
