@Weoooo If Taji and Igarashi get into a relationship now, it would fuel all sort of rumors in a sense that she's trying to protect Taji, and by extension, his family, which includes his brother. It could potentially affect the investigation too. It would complicate the investigation to put it lightly and damaging both Igarashi and the polices reputation as well. Most likely to the point where Igarashi would be forced to resign and anything statements from her thrown out.
