Ryoumin 0-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushusama - Vol. 1 Ch. 1

Oh wow, an adult MC that actually looks like an adult.
> Gets called an idiot multiple times, including by himself, in the first chapter.
Oh, weeelp. At least he looks like one.

I feel like the translator is choosing the most difficult words from the dictionary on purpose .

Counter to hamdeo - I am in love with the way that this is being translated. You get at least just a pinch of the same confusion that the MC must feel. You do god's work, dear TL.

KING'S MEN CAME ACROSS THE SEA
HE BROUGHT US PAIN AND MISERY
HE KILLED OUR TRIBES, HE KILLED OUR CREEDS
HE TOOK OUR GAME FOR HIS OWN NEEDS
WE FOUGHT THEM HARD; WE FOUGHT THEM WELL
OUT OF THE PLAINS, WE GAVE THEM
BUT WHEN IT BECAME TOO MUCH THE ONI
OH WILL WE EVER BE SET FREE?

Big softie's declaration seemed like proposal.
Also that's some tricky situation. Well, depending on how kingdom handles new lands, but something tells me that if they appoing completely unrelated person as governor and don't have any kind of links with locals (probably not even knowing anyone is there) kingdom does not care. Will they be regarded as subjects none the less? When will new settlers arrive? And I guess it's written blue so far.

Wow, from a certain point of view, this guy's life is really sad. Lost his parents from a young age, then on top of that, he's literally spent more time at war being a soldier fighting for his life than actually being a normal citizen (15 vs 20 years).

@hamdeo @sgr

I try to reflect the person speaking. Dias speaks fairly directly and without any fancy words. The old lady kind of twists her words around and uses big words. Aruna is pretty brusque to Dias but more polite and uses slightly more grown up words with there old lady. A lot of the big words probably came from the old lady and it was intentional.

That is literally terrible. He fights for the Kingdom and yet they give him a grassy plain with nothing on it. No subordinates either, so I can guess the King is afraid of him. Usually, people lauded as Heroes can be a danger to the ruler because they have so much public opinion on their side. The King 'rewarded' him to appease the public but also gave him something that couldn't threaten him. Annoying that this guy has to deal with distrust just because he protected his home.

I think it's quite honorable to uphold your parent's dying wishes for so long.
