Ryoumin 0-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushusama - Vol. 1 Ch. 2

@AnnaPlayer

Sure, but what's funny is that hawtness is still part of femininity to them. Like, the women in this story can't afford to care about having hot husbands because "who cares about that stuff if our family starves to death", but the men can afford to care about having hot wives because...reasons.

In RL nomadic cultures, it doesn't usually work that way; the sexes tend to have more symmetric marriage preferences than in sedentary societies, because it's impossible for either sex to accumulate massive amounts of wealth. Everyone's looking for a spouse that's a good worker, and if they're hot, bonus, but it's not the most important thing.

@squerl I know what you are saying and I haven't read who you were replying to, but I think the Koreans under the Mongols might want to have a word with you regarding massive tributes of wives... Hrm, if one million Mongols conquered 200 million people... that's a lot of variety to choose from....

@squerl

kinda ironic for you to say that it's only one side. females value masculinity, Males value Beauty, so technically there is no problem here just a trade off it's all about preference, it was implied that Aruna was a proper woman of the tribe, so in a sense she is a general idea of the tribe and not a outcast type person that would look for something that does not fit the general idea.

if you are implying the sense that females can take care of themselves and that they need no man, then that would be already be the preference of the person itself.

@noace
I prefer her with the tribal paint but this works too :)
I dunno. The face paint make her look like she's underfed.

I guess this manga isn't too well known because I fully expected it to trigger the fck out of a certain type of worthless human garbage that shall not be named but the comments are largely peacefull, how quaint

"With different culture comes different [something about common sense and values]."
Not to say that this is complicated - it's quite simple rather - but it seems too complicated for our MC to figure out. I suppose he's kinda worldly though, so maybe it's not farfetched for him to pick up on the concept.
