S Rank Boukensha de aru Ore no Musume-tachi wa Juudo no Father Con deshita - Vol. 1 Ch. 1 - I picked up some babies

This guy is pathetic. What logic is that? He couldn’t defeat the wyverns fast enough therefore waking up a dragon? Why would there be a dragon there in the first place? And if his fights can wake up a dragon then just how loud was he fighting and what kind of coincidence is it for a dragon of all things to just happen to be near a town? Although this has some plot holes, at least it’s not an isekai where everyone accepts the logic of summoning people from a magical place called Japan. Also, where de bodies?

I feel like whatever authorities are involved should have done more to prevent him from retiring. I get the other adventurers being eager to tear down this genius that makes them all look bad, and throwing spiteful comments his way. But for the guild, and for the people who contract the guild, this guy is out there actually solving their problems. I mean, someone reported those wyverns, meaning someone was troubled by them. It sucks that there was a dragon nearby, and the guy getting PTSD from watching helplessly as the town was destroyed is reasonable too. Specially if he's been such a talented guy so far that he never faced any setbacks before, like losing a party member in a mission.

It doesn't look like he was held accountable for the damage by the guild or the local authorities, since he is not in prison or made to pay a massive fine. But the guild should have offered more than one secretary saying "it wasn't your fault" to keep the guy working. Not sure how adoption works in that world, since he apparently gets to keep the babies he found rather than, I don't know, hand them over the the local lord or church. But the guild should offer him a relaxed schedule, or hire a babysitter if he wants, or whatever, just to keep this prodigy working for them. The local authorities too, they should be offering him a position as knight or something, since raising children means staying put in one place.

This whole "ok, we'll let you drop off the face of the world and make no effort to retain a once-in-a-hundred-years prodigy like you" is a bit forced.

You would think the guild would call out a retention specialists when a potential S rank decides to retire like this.

We should of seen that the fight caused the dragon to wake up. With how it's framed it just feels like he's blaming himself for a coincidence. At worst he should feel bad for not being able to do something.

Please add 5 or 10 to his age to be more realistic.
Why the dragon ignoring the one who disturb him and attack some village? Well dragon psychology always a mystery, so whatever.

This is pathetic, from start to beginning, jfc, the though process to reach from [I was on my quest and a clearly UNEXPECTED VARIABLE happened] to [I am responsible and everyone blaming me, including myself, is on the right to do so, because this absolutely random event is clearly NOT my fault] is just so ridiculous that is infuriating that this was used as the reason for the most important event of the beginning of this garbage. This is an insta-drop, if the story has such a retarded start, I don't want to be here later.

besides being coincidentally near when it happened and having seen the dragon just how is he responsible for what is basicly a natural calamity destroying a random border village?
if the dragon actually noticed him before attacking the village it would have at least tried to eat him for invading its territory/ disrupting its sleep/ being the nearest human after awakening

so just how is he responsible...
realy i like the later chapters but the beginning is forced like bending a solid steel pipe with your bare hands

He just became a father at the age of 14

Also the fuck is his ego lol
He was trained yo become powerful buy his masters didn't train him to be more human

@reen112 He's 17. he became an adventurer at 14. He was known as a prodigy so yeah he would of course get an ego from it.

@Roadrunner9000 Basically he's saying that his fight with the Wyverns took too long and it woke the dragon up. It was tecnically caused by him but, it was indirectly caused. It would be like accidentally stepping on a dog's tail while trying not to trip over a rock. It wasn't really "your" fault for stepping on the dogs tail because it's not like you wanted to trip on the rock. Doesn't stop the dog from trying to bite your ass for it. But his sense of responsibility is coming from his ego "I was supposed to be the BEST there was HOW THE HELL did I screw this up?!?!" is his reaction to it. It's not really warranted guilt but, it's there anyway.

@Lelouchezero
well it wouldnt stop the dog from biting your ass, right, because the dog would bite the person stepping on its tail not a bystander that coincidentally walked somewhere in front of it as its tail was stepped on
which is also why i would postulate that
based on average fantasy customs the dragon would first clean its lair of invaders to eat then the surroundings and only then go looking for settlements
so if the mc was close enough to cause ruckus to wake it up he should also have been close enough to be higher on the menu than a far removed village

so something doesnt track here if he actually caused it to wake up
because either he was directly or indirectly a nusiance to the dragon which caused it to wake up in which case he should have been close or loud enough to be on the dragons priority list or he wasnt in which case getting ignored by the dragon in favour of a village would have been normal... so him being ignored in favour of the settlement seems very strange

Gotta go read the LN to see if the MC found those 3 babies in a bunch like that. It just looked too convenient.

You know....
I will feel a lot of respect for the MC as long as this doesn't turn into a harem story...
But I have a feeling I will be disappointed...
