@Kuroww The protagonist is just a retard. It's honestly cringeworthy. It has nothing to do with being cheap or poor. Even the heaviest penny pinchers know there's a time and a place for being frugal. People dying in front of you isn't one of them. Even he said it himself! If they get hospitalized or something, that's what he's saving for. Now his neighbor/childhood friend/whoever is dying, someone's about to get squished to death, both he and his sister is in danger, and he's freaking out over spending the equivalent to $5? It's actual bullshit and the author should be a little bit ashamed of themselves for contriving such a stupid reaction.

if it were me I wouldn't even take any chances, I'd be aiming square at the $50 option that guarantees a good item in the first place.
