@mangabinger185 Well even if we set aside that he doesn't know, he knows from experience that if the police find them first it's going to be a bad ending all around (which he wants to avoid by getting her to testify against her family to get her away from them as well), and he has shown to be picking up on clues that she is better off in her current situation, so it's possible that Detective-san will find some way to try to get the two to live happily without having to be constantly running from the cops worrying about everything going to shit if a cop manages to pick up on the trial.

As things stand, I would guess that he'd prioritize protecting kidnapper-san from the police than risk letting the police get Sachi with the information he's got, as all evidence points to her being safer and happy with him despite how that flies in the face of any normal kidnapping whereas the evidence points that her old life, which the police would take her too, is absolutely horrible.

So the detective is gonna go undercover and try to understand both kidnapper and the captive instead of outright catching them? Surprising and not surprising at the same time.
Man, is there even a possibility of this kind of person being irl? I doubt it but maybe there is someone like that out there, somewhere who would go that far for someone who's a total stranger.
He is too likeable, I hope he helps them in someway or atleast resolve this more......humanitarianly.
