This manga is really good. However, I feel like that I would be able to appreciate it more if I was religious.

really loved that the author does not make things as obvious as other isekai from appearances like that elf dude, don't know if the priest is the same
rather than outright good or evil, it depends on morals and situations (like those law neutral chaotic alignments)

one isekai (added w/ op guns) showed very ugly drawings as villains
another (turned to a trope) isekai showed that fatty merchants are corrupt

The manga is really well done, I quite much like how well every character is depicted, without obviously evil or good traits.
Still, I would recommend to read the original novels, since the story is a bit unusual for an isekai, it being a heartwarming slice of life mixed with adventure, and the novels obviously go a deeper into characterization.
The novels have officially been translated in English and are available for purchase as ebooks. Give them a try.

After all, with the worship of Gracefeel having gone down as much as it has, it's very likely that almost no one understand anymore what the Goddess of the Flame is really about. They ask about it and are likely just told that she handles the souls of the deceased toward new lives (reincarnation). That however is just one aspect of her divine sphere.
And it also makes sense for a Bishop (an incredibly high ranked member of the Church (of all Good-aligned Gods, even if he personally follows a specific one)) to know about the true meaning of the teachings of all of the gods, even those whose influence has gone down.
Heck, it's likely that most of the people who do still swear by Gracefeel don't use the exact same terminology as the one used centuries prior(the same one used by Will here). Someone aiming for a scam wouldn't be knowledgeable about such lost teachings. So the Bishop immediately saw Will as a true priest of Gracefeel. It's even more telling with him asking if the other priest was deaf for not understanding the meaning of what Will said.
I think it'd make sense for there to be ancient records of the divine teachings of all the gods in the "HQ"(so to say) of the Church, which is likely where this Bishop received his rank.

I really like that moment.

I'm glad to hear that my inklings that the bishop is actually a decent guy with a sharp temper is correct. The fact that he questioned then accepted Will's declaration of Gracefeel's tenets made me think he had to be well-studied and serious (not to mention he said "any" donation was worth the temple's provision. And the fact that he said you can't be flippant about blessings, only to have the attendant talk badly about his track record on blessings made me think not only is his personality not winning him any friends, he's likely having to deal with something of a conspiracy of factions in and out of the temple.

Normally, isekai's are Church Guy = Bad and Corrupt, and that's that. This one is way more interesting.

I can't decide if I think the bishop is actually a good guy, or if he's somehow himself an impostor without any ability who just manages to sidestep situations where he'd need to use it, like avoiding the prayer for Will.
