Its a great manga because the light novel its based on is genuinely good. The author is pretty talented and avoids a lot of the light novel's many pitfalls. It might resonate a lot more with us western readers as well because he was inspired by playing D&D and reading western literature. Helps a lot that the translated version of the LN is done by a professional too.
