I forgot, was she traveling as a boy? Bc no matter which way you look at her, there’s no part that looks or acts like a boy. I know she’s a child, but still...

From what I can remember, the reason she's traveling as a boy is that if people found out she was a girl, they would exploit her, but if she was a random boy, she can avoid general detection and can have many freedoms outside.

I feel ya, her mannerisms and way of speaking just says "girl". Honestly, anyone who confuses her for a boy either: 1) Do not deal with children much. 2) Is acquainted with a very girlish boy thus sees her as a boy who's feminine. 3) Is looking at her by squinting one eye and closing the other.
I can give a pass to her voice as young boys 'n girls often times do sound alike up to pre-teens, speech patterns is what usually give them away.

Lol okay so it seems alot of people either they forgot or didn't follow the manga seriously based on how they confused by why our MC is called boy and she didn't mind it.

I haven't seen anyone mention that MC is disguised as a boy AND 9 yrs old at the most. She got church evaluation at 5 yrs old. Then we got a time skip so that MC can learn how to survive and we readers don't melt our brains trying to explain why the adults in several towns were okay with smol toddler traveling alone.
I'm still not understanding how adults in several towns accept 9yo kid traveling, but I'm shutting off reason to enjoy this story.

Nothing unusual in anime that boys look girlish.
So when It comes to anime and how characters see each other, dont try to make to much sense of it.
Since is a lot of animes you can disguise as a boy/girl by slapping a wig on your head
