Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Abelheid was joining in on their little mad scientist's gleeful reconstruction of life.

Since it said "king", I'm just going to assume that's some sort of sky demon king. Y'know, the elves really should've left some notes or something around to warn people not to undo the seal.
