Saikyou Juzoku Tensei: Cheat Majutsushi no Slow Life - Vol. 2 Ch. 6

Well, that was... interesting.
I love the fact that the Yandere side of the sister has been hinted for a while, and all those bread crumbs about this incestuous society were good too!

But why are they prohibited to leave the village without proper authorisation? That seems interesting, I can't wait to know the reasons!

Wow. A japanese manga that discourages incest. Now I've read everything.

There is only one biiiiig flaw in this plan of his. He hurts his sister, that has been raised in a way, she had to fall in love with him. His escape will totally mess up her life and psych. Her best reaction would be if she simply never marries and tries to inflict damage on MC's mind by this passive aggressive revenge. In worst case she'll cut up his future love interest.

BTW: I'm also in favor of breaking up that arranged marriage. Maybe not by simply running away, before trying something else, but something had to be done.

I must say, this is the first time I’ve ever seen so many people mad at a main character for running away from an arranged marriage. If anything, I usually see them mad at a character not running away from such a situation and labeling them as a doormat.

Well, it's a different world with magic, the village has a tradition of inbreeding, so if there were actual genetic problems those probably would have been noticed and things like the Westermarck effect likely be at work as well.

he's dumb, like yeah marrying your sister is a big no-no for anyone from the regular world, but she straight's up tells him she's happy to marry him and he just leaves?! BITCH! even if u think that she only feels that way since thats whats she has been taught since she was a child, she still holds feelings for u, u dumb motherfucker, u need to talk things out dammed, i fucking hate the trope of im gonna leave a note instead of properly explaining the situation!

motherfuckers

Hmm I wonder what is the real cause of inbreeding in Marren clan for it to be a customary tradition, i hope there is some kind of explanation like bloodline characteristic/magic or something

@OiGimmeMoreManga
Did you even read my comment? to quote myself "Given that reason running away like that is nonsense." or "Hurting her like that is totally against his objective of doing things for her sake."

I despise MC right now. He didn't stop to think about what would happen after he left. He didn't take little sister's feeling into consideration. He just clung onto logic from his old world.
There was no telling what little sister would do... judging from how she adored MC, there were only two ways: either to persistently pursue MC, or suicide.
Imagine if, a year later MC returned home to find his family, broken after his idiotic escape and little sister's suicide.

tl:dr MC was being selfish and wimp.

>talking it out
>with a yandere

running away was the safest option for the sake of the author keeping mc alive

Gizel needs some professional help, an entire team of people specialized in tracking down and capturing negligent older brothers.

@welcome2atlantis, I like him more now. Incest is fucked up and he recognizes this and how primitive like these people think. Tough shit, love goes both ways if the sister cared she'd let go. Which I'm pretty sure will happen.

@AnonDePlume, incest whiteknighting is a first yes. Imagine only caring about a girls feelings but not the guys?

My feelings tilt towards MC being a dumbass, and in complete denial for nonsensical "hail japan morality issues"

For him marrying his sister:
A) He's in a different world. Doesn't matter if it was just another country or culture, different place, different rules. When in rome, do as the romans do, sort of thing.
B) His parents expect him to do so to care for his sister and the family. He's fine with being raised nicely by his family up until now, then runs away? Averting responsibility. Why entrust your sister to some unknown guy who might just abuse her and ditch her later, or force her to stay unmarried for the rest of her life and suffer that stigma.
C) He's also the strongest magic user around and rich, so it's not like he's not capable. In his parents' eyes, he's clearly the best choice of a spouse for their beloved daughter by FAR. I'm surprised if he wouldn't normally have girls lining up to force a relationship with him after completely taking over the village's monetary system in weeks.
D) He's actually attracted to his sister. She's attracted to him. And they care for each other. Forcing his sister onto another guy just because incest would be like denying gay people "it's just a phase"
E) Leaves without a method of contact. There's no conversation potential, he's just up and running away, for all that could have happened a wolf-god comes next day and wipes out the village, and he wouldn't know till he heard rumors his entire family is dead. Great job, doofus.

Against the marriage:
A) He's not into the marriage. That's a great setup for long-term unhappiness and suffering for both him and his sister. His reasons are emotional and illogical, so it's hard to say if he'll change his mind.
B) it's also really sudden. It's not like his sister who has had like 5 years to prepare her heart and object, he's literally got like 2 days notice for a life-changing event with no choice in the matter.
C) Limits emotional growth and relationships. His sister is super dependant on him, and this just further enables this behavior.

So in short, if he sat down and talked about it and had a conversation with his family properly over a few weeks time, this could be resolved. Instead, we get MC running away from reality and non-communication. Great drama material, do not practice at home, please.

Theory?

Magic doesn't work outside the village? Or no one knows about it?
