He does also has absolute mastery of items so she would have no better fit in that way. She may have been bound with him for those reasons and now acts for his and her own sake or some sort of greater good they both align on. She speaks now so perhaps until now they were somewhat at odds because she knew of his accidental misdeeds due to the humans cruelty.
