Samenai Machi no Kissaten

@PowerNine
My guess is that it's just simply because it sounds better than Paris, while still using it as reference.
I mean, it's a dream world where there are giant cats, flying whales and witches. Calling it Paris would be weird.

Made the mint liquor the other day. I think I liked the taste best after one day, not an entire week. Maybe it was because I used crappy store-bought mint, or because of the old lemon. Need to try again...

wow that newest chapter was beautifully illustrated. i mean, they all are but chapter 10 especially

This is the kind of slice of life I can enjoy rereading again and again

I love the atmosphere that this manga gives off. The food also looks delicious. Although, I have to say, I'm more intrigued by how Suzume ended up in this situation and what exactly happened in "reality" that caused her to arrive here.

@kaelua: I'm kind of guessing that Suzume is dead and this is the afterlife, and the thing she shouldn't remember is dying. They already made a joke about Hakuro maybe being God...

Oh: in one of the first chapters a bell pepper is labeled "paprika". That's a faulty translation; in English, the word "paprika" is only used for the spice, not the fruit/vegetable. (The spice is made from ground dried peppers, but not exclusively bell peppers.)

@ZeeVee
Ah, I was not aware of that since I just read the kana. Thanks for the info, I'll fix it.

@ZeeVee: That would make sense actually. In that case, I guess she wouldn't ever really be able to wake up then. Thanks m8!

@ZeeVee that's to be expected, what I'm scared of is discovering that the twins are also death as "stories of fluffy children which are also dead children" kinda kill me inside.

There seem to be two different things called Toad in the Hole (bizarre enough that there's one--good ol' England). The one I knew about is a lot simpler--you take a piece of bread, cut a hole in it, put it in a frying pan, break an egg into the hole, and fry it. Salt and pepper to taste.
Saaay . . . the edit function seems to have some stuff for bold and links and a few emoji and stuff now. Not in the basic comment thing, so you don't see it unless you go to edit your post. Hmmm, testing . . . OK, so the buttons don't seem to do anything yet, but it's nice to see it's under development.

@PowerNine: not a big problem… but if people are talking about making the recipes and use the spice where bell peppers are expected, the results might be scary. (Although you can make some good dishes with a lot of paprika… chicken paprikash comes to mind. Still, adding a quarter cup of paprika when you should have added a quarter cup of bell pepper would be the sort of cooking error which usually happens INSIDE comics, not as a result of reading them.)

@lightingcloud: as long as I'm speculating, how about this: the town is a waiting place for people who are newly-dead or near-dead (in a coma, for example) and the non-dreaming permanent residents are basically angels. Suzume is either staying until she forgets enough of her life to move on, or else she's in a coma in the real world and when she remembers she'll go back.

My comment got lost in the update, uh? It was something like

@ZeeVee: so haibane renmei all over again
